Nelson's jazzfest 09

Now in its 17th year, the festival centres around a number of free outdoor concerts plus a busy performance program featuring international, national and local bands and artists.

A jam-packed programme over five days in January is planned with over 70 events scheduled, launching with Woollaston Jazz in the Park at Fairfield Park in Nelson and followed by 'Jazz in the park' concerts in Richmond, Takaka, Founders Heritage Park and Kaiteriteri.

Families usually bring a picnic and relax in a safe and friendly environment listening to between 40 and 60 musicians and entertainers from mid- afternoon through early evening. We follow the concert with 4 days of entertainment during daytime, afternoon and evening at various sponsor venues.
